Alternative education at Skillsec

A dedicated programme for under 16s to foster wellbeing and connection with a pathway towards enrolling in NCEA Level 2 courses on completion

Entry Requirements

  • Be a domestic learner (ie. a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident)

  • Under 16

  • Referral by Otago Youth Wellness Trust or Southern Youth Development

Come and see us to:

  • Gain life skills such as cooking, gardening, automotive, and carpentry

  • Learn safe workshop practices

  • Access Literacy and Numeracy support

  • Enjoy small class sizes and practical learning

  • Boost your confidence while developing your knowledge

  • Join an encouraging, caring environment

Duration
Until 16th birthday (excluding school holidays)

Monday – Thursday 9.00 am – 3.30 pm
