Whānau Ora Navigation

Onsite strengths-based wellbeing support for students and whānau

Introducing Taylor

Taylor works with whānau one-to-one and in groups*. He can help with learner licences, provide assistance in a crisis, work with you to foster holistic wellbeing, and offer support at medical appointments. He also has access to funding to tackle barriers and support you in your goals and ambitions whilst uplifting mana.

A key aspect for Taylor and Whānau Ora is providing opportunities of reconnection with the whenua. This involves gardening, trips out and work experience opportunities in the country.

(*Whānau Ora Navigation is available for all tauira at Skillsec)

Rangatahi Hui

Each month, Taylor organises a Rangatahi Hui which is a student-led activity day, and includes as many of your suggestions as possible (from where we go to what we eat). Previous trips have included tree planting at Warrington, a coastal walk and picnic at Karitāne, bowling, paintballing, and a tour of Orokonui Ecosanctuary.
